I created these two models from scratch based on the original Minecraft Steve and Minecraft Alex player characters. I then matched the UV layout to the original character models' texture layouts. I lowered the resolution to match the original game meshes and painted the textures by hand, pixel by pixel. The final images were rendered in Maya and are ready for use in Minecraft.
